For millennia, clay crafts have been used for embellishments and other purposes. The earthen container (Ghaita) for bringing water, earthen utensils for cooking and frying grains (Hadi), serving liquors (Sali), and plating prepared dishes, clay crafts appear to have been widely employed in the past.
Clay crafts, particularly as a kind of souvenir, began to grow in Nepal following tourism activities. Furthermore, the Prajapati tribe of Bhaktapur (who live on both Thimi and Bhaktapur) is bringing a new method of making pottery and creating art from it.
These miniature replicas of Nyatapola-style constructions are among the nicest souvenirs available in Bhaktapur. It is available in two varieties.
